As your counselor, I am committed to your overall growth and wellbeing—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. My hope is that through our counseling sessions together, you will experience a radical transformation that can only come from God. If you’re feeling alone, helpless, and without hope, Christian counseling can help. You don’t have to struggle alone. Through our time together, it’s possible for you to learn and put into practice proven therapeutic techniques to help you reach the goals you desire to achieve, with the strength and grace God provides.
My Goal as a Christian Counselor
My goals as a therapist are to help create a space of trust, warmth, healing and hope where you can share your concerns and begin the journey toward growth and overall wellness. I focus on establishing rapport so that you feel cared for, heard, and understood. I will also focus on assisting you with learning skills that will benefit you immediately and long-term.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
I offer a space of unconditional acceptance. I usually ask my clients if they would like to pray before and after sessions to increase collaboration and reduce any anxiety that they might be experiencing. I then usually ask what is on their heart or mind to discuss and if there was something that occurred in the past week that was important to dissect. I may also offer worksheets, videos, role-plays, activities, or just discussion to help achieve the client’s therapeutic goals.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
One of the benefits of a Christian approach to counseling is that therapists can operate from both a religious/spiritual space as well as a psychological space. As Christian, we believe in Agape love, mercy, grace, and faith. These are also values that clients need in order to work through their mental health challenges and conditions. My faith helps me to be more patient and understand that the work I do is not only me performing a job but God working through me to serve His people.
